Numina Epiphany Celebration
About This Project: I was asked to create a digital e-newsletter advertisement and a matching printed flyer for a special event at a historic Episcopal church. The event was a spiritual performance and dinner that celebrated the Season of Epiphany, which commemorates the visit of the Magi to the infant Jesus. The purpose of the advertisement was to reach out to both existing and potential attendees of the church, as well as the local community, and invite them to join this solemn and inspirational event.
As the designer, I worked closely with the chairperson of the Numina committee that organized the event. My main goal was to convey through the visual elements the evening's atmosphere of divine presence and guidance. I chose a soft blue color scheme that reflected the winter season and the calmness of worship. I also used images of a star and three figures on camels to represent the biblical story of the Magi following the star to Bethlehem. I wanted to create a sense of space in the composition that emphasizes the bright star, symbolizing the light of Christ in the world.
The digital advertisement was sent to an email list of subscribers, while the printed version was distributed in person at the church and other public places. The feedback from the Numina committee and the church staff was positive, and the event was well-attended and appreciated by the participants.
