Bring Your Kid To Work Day

About This Project: LEMO USA, Inc., a company that manufactures precision custom connectors and innovative cable solutions, asked me to create an illustration for their "Bring Your Kid To Work" day event. This event is held yearly and allows employees to bring their children to participate in science-themed activities and see a tour of the building where their parents work. The client wanted a colorful copy to print on paper, and a limited-palette copy for sending to vendors in a color theme matching the company’s brand. The illustration was used for various event materials, including lanyard tags and t-shirts.

The goal of the illustration was to convey a sense of fun, adventure and science, and to appeal to the target audience of kids ages 7 and up. I decided to feature colorful and cute mascots of robots and mechanical giraffes as the main characters of the illustration. I weaved in variations of the Garamond font to produce a storybook look and feel for the text.

The project had a tight deadline of 3 days, so I had to work fast and efficiently. The client was very happy with the result and the kids loved the illustration. It was a rewarding project that allowed me to showcase my skills as an illustrator and my passion for STEM education.
